About Us

Alpaca-Llips Farm was founded in April of 2014 when all of the stars aligned and a life long love of llamas and a family dream to create something amazing together came together in the purchase of a 40-acre parcel of land complete with a large garage/barn/wood shop.

John and Faith Mayer have been married 25 years and have four children; Adam, Erik, Ian and Abigail. All four children contribute to life on the farm in some way.

By day John “Tony” Mayer is a nuclear engineer with Areva Inc. He has been with them for 30 years and is now considered a world renowned expert in nuclear energy. When not in the office, Tony handcrafts furniture and kayaks. He is also the farm’s maintenance supervisor and jack of all trades.

Faith is a Development Associate with the Doctor Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, MA. and has spent her life working towards one day becoming a llama farmer. A lifelong writer, Faith often journals and blogs about her life.

Both Tony and Faith can often be found on the trails of Mt. Wachusett with friends and family, and have always enjoyed the outdoors. Both are active in Boy Scouts having seen all three of their sons through the ranks – one to the rank of Eagle Scout.
